Based in Toronto, Fresh City Farms was originally an online grocery store offering local and organic products. Recently, they've put those ingredients to use in meal kits. Update: Fuud no longer operates as a meal kit delivery service, instead, it can now be found in local grocery stores in Vancouver. Fuud is a Vancouver based meal kit delivery service. They focus on local organic ingredients from the Fraser Valley and in-season recipes. They also use organic meat whenever possible. Unlike most kits, their ingredients don't come pre-chopped. Although this adds more time to the cooking process, they feel it leads to fresher flavour and a more authentic cooking experience. Each week, they offer nine different recipes, including omnivore, vegetarian and gluten-free meals.

Marley Spoon is a German company that provides meal kits all around the world, including the United States, and Australia. They offer meal kits for people who like cooking, which make them not the best choice for busy beginners but will be ideal for busy cooking lovers. Marley Spoon desires to connect the growers to the cooks by offering in-season meals that include vegetarian, fish and meat.

Based in Vancouver, Fresh Prep was founded in 2014 for people in search of an easier answer to the question "what's for dinner?". Fresh Prep sources local and all-natural produce and prioritize organic ingredients. With an emphasis on sustainability, they deliver the meal kits in a reusable insulated cooler bag. Fresh Prep offers plans for couples and families. Price per serving starts at $10.

Each box comes with fresh, pre-portioned ingredients that are easy to prepare and create a shareable experience for the entire family. Their meal plans are highly customizable and offer many unique dinner, breakfast and snack options that can be delivered all across Canada.  

Cook It is a Montreal-based meal kit company. They deliver to 95% of the Canadian East Coast. They offer a great variety of recipes, including a vegetarian option. Cook It sources their ingredients from local farmers. Their meal kits are best for busy Canadian couples and families.

Launched in 2018 by HelloFresh, EveryPlate is the low-cost version of HelloFresh. They offer a smaller variety of recipes but for a very competitive price: $4.99 per meal. EveryPlate works with “trusty suppliers and genius chefs” to ensure freshness and quality of their meals. Their meal kits come in recyclable packaging with pre-portioned ingredients to minimize food waste.
